So grab a cup of tea and your favorite journal, it’s time to simplify your life and take care of yourself!

1. Simplify Your Summer Wardrobe

Summer is the perfect time to embrace minimalism and simplify your wardrobe. Keep only the essentials, and opt for natural, breathable fabrics such as cotton, linen, and bamboo. These fabrics are not only comfortable but also eco-friendly. You don't need a lot of clothes to feel good about yourself, and having fewer options can make it easier to get ready in the morning.  Here are some summer capsule wardrobe ideas you can check out, click here!

2. Prioritize Well-being

In the summer, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of social events, vacations, and outdoor activities. But it's essential to prioritize your well-being to avoid burnout. Make time for meditation, yoga, or other calming activities that help you stay centered and grounded. Take a break from social media and technology and spend time in nature. Go for a walk, hike, or swim in the ocean. Being in nature can help reduce stress and boost your mood.

4. Prioritize Your Health

Summer is a time of indulgence, but it's important to prioritize your health. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and limit your intake of processed foods and alcohol. I found a recipe for a healthy watermelon mocktail I know you’re going to love, click here to check it out.  Get enough sleep and prioritize stress management techniques such as deep breathing, mindfulness, or journaling. Your health should always come first, no matter what the season.

5. Stay Active

Summer is a great time to get outside and be active. Whether you enjoy running, biking, swimming, or hiking, find an activity that you love and stick with it. Being active not only keeps you physically fit but also helps boost your mood and energy levels. If you're traveling, find ways to incorporate physical activity into your itinerary, such as hiking, walking tours, or bike rentals.  If you’re not the outdoors type, there are plenty of free videos on youtube you can follow along and I’ve linked my favorite Pilates instructor here!  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

6. Embrace Travel

Summer is a great time to travel and explore new places. Whether you're going on a road trip, camping, or flying to a new destination, embrace the adventure. Be open to new experiences, try new foods, and immerse yourself in different cultures. Traveling can be an excellent way to gain new perspectives, learn new skills, and connect with people from all walks of life.

7. Take Care of Your Hair

Summer can be harsh on your hair, with exposure to sun, saltwater, and chlorine. To keep your hair healthy, use a natural shampoo and conditioner that is gentle on your scalp and hair. Wear a hat or scarf to protect your hair from the sun, and avoid using hot tools such as blow dryers or flat irons. If you're swimming, rinse your hair with fresh water before and after to remove any chlorine or saltwater.  Use hair oil daily (twice a day if you can) to keep your hair hydrated and soft.  Keeping your hair hydrated is important if you want to prevent damage and breakage.  Finding an oil without silicone can be difficult so I’ve linked my favorite hair oil for you right here!

In conclusion, a summer self-care routine should focus on simplifying your life, prioritizing your well-being, and embracing the adventure. Take time to take care of yourself, and don’t forget to check back next week for more simple living tips.

Stay Well,

Mel
